Ramnagar College (Bengali: রামনগর কলেজ), established in 1972, is a general degree college in Depal, in Ramnagar II, in Purba Medinipur district. It offers undergraduate courses in arts and sciences. It is affiliated with Vidyasagar University. The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Ramnagar is a land of freedom fighters. The people of Ramnagar played a not-worthy role in the country-‘s freedom struggle. They took a very active part in the Salt Movement of Pichhabani and suffered untold hardship and sufferings at the hands of British rulers. Ramnagar College Admission Criteria:
For Honours Courses: Candidates passing Higher Secondary Examination conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent Board/Council (List of the board/councils are listed below) in the year (2020/2019/2018) are eligible for apply for Honours course in Arts, Science & Commerce subjects provided that the candidate must have passed in 5(Five)/4(Four) (where applicable) recognized subjects including at least one language subject 4 with at least 45% marks in aggregate or 50% marks in subjects or related subjects in the qualifying examination.
For General Courses: Candidates passing Higher Secondary Examination conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent Board/Council (List of the board/councils are listed below) in the year (2020/2019/2018) are eligible to apply for General course with subjects Arts, Science & Commerce provided that the candidate must have passed in 5(Five)/4(Four) (where applicable) recognized subjects including at least one language subject.

Ramnagar College Merit List:
Candidates’ merit list will be made strictly on a Merit basis. Hons Course will be calculated by adding 10% of total marks obtained in the ‘best five’ subjects Higher Secondary/equivalent examination and the marks obtained in the subject in which the admission in Honours Course is sought.
Example:
Total marks obtained in the ‘Best Five’ subjects = 300
10% of Total Marks = 30 Marks obtained in the subject in which the admission in Honours Course in sought = 50
