CAT Exam 2020: CAT or the Common Admission Test is a computer-based entrance examination for MBA into the IIMs and Several other prestigious B-Schools in the country. This entrance examination is conducted by Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. Every year more than 2 lakh MBA aspirants appear in the CAT examination. The test scores a candidate on the bases of Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR). The Application process for CAT Examination 2020 is Online mode. The application process will start from August 2020 and will be open till September. Eligibility for CAT Examination 2020:
Qualification: Applicant should have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. The students belonging reserved categories like SC / ST / PWD or persons with disabilities (PWD) must score 45% marks. The degree should be awarded from a recognized University included by an act of the central or a state legislature in India, or any other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or are declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or hold a qualification recognized by the MHRD, India.

Student who appearing for the final year of their Bachelor’s degree is also eligible to Apply for CAT 2020.

Age Limit: There is no age restriction for the CAT examination.

CAT 2020 Application Form:

Online Application Process for CAT exam 2019 will be started from August 2010 and will be available until September 2020. Eligible candidates who want to take admission in MBA course can register their name for the exam. There is a three-step process in CAT Examination. CAT Registration, Online from Fill Up and Paying the application fee. If candidates already have a post-registration they can directly fill up the online form with the User ID & Password. Candidates have to select their examination centers as per their convenience.

CAT Exam Application fee:
The application fee must be paid by the applicant while filling up the application from. The fee could be paid through net banking, Debit, Credit, BillDesk, PayU and Paytm. The fee details are given below.

CAT Admit Card 2020:
Candidates who have successfully register their name will get the CAT Admit Card 2020. Admit card will be released online mode. In order to download the CAT Admit Card. Applicants should log in to their Registered CAT profile with the ID & Password. The Admit card will issue from October onwards.

The Admit card of CAT 2020 will be available only in online mode. Candidates need to download the admit card from the official website and take a good quality print out. No, admit card will send through Email or by any others means.

CAT 2020 Exam Pattern:

CAT is a computer-based examination with three timed sections. The question paper will consist of both MCQ as well as Non-MCQ questions which carrying a total of 100 question. Each question will carry 3 marks. For every incorrect/wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one mark. However, it has to be noted that will be no negative marking for non-MCQs or TITA (Type In The Answer) questions.

CAT Syllabus 2019:
For the CAT exam, there is no predefined syllabus. The syllabus is mainly from the middle school topics of Maths, and English with some generic logical reasoning questions.

  • CAT Quantitative Aptitude: The syllabus for CAT quantitative mainly includes topics from class 8-10 like geometry, algebra, number system. etc.
  • CAT Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation: The logical reasoning selection is very generic and a wide variety of questions based on the seating arrangement, direction sense test, etc. are included. The data interpretation section includes questions mostly based on data caselets and graphs.
  • CAT Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension: In this Section, Comprehension Passages are given followed by a few questions. Apart from that, few of the grammar-based questions like sentence completion, jumbled sentences, etc. are asked.
