Gour Mahavidyalaya (abbreviated as GM) is a college in Old Malda in the Malda district of West Bengal, India. The college is affiliated with the University of Gour Banga, offering undergraduate courses. Eligibility Criteria for Gour Mahavidyalaya Admission 2021-22 – Online Application
Gour Mahavidyalaya Admission Criteria:
Students who have passed the H.S./equivalent examination in 2017 can be eligible for application. Only the students who passed the H.S. examination in 2018, 2019 & 2020 can be eligible to apply provided that they have not appeared in any examination at graduation level under Gour Banga University. The students passed out from Vocational courses are eligible to apply only in General course. To apply for Honours Courses, the candidate must have got either 50% in subject or 45% in aggregate (to be calculated by adding marks obtained in the five best subjects). To apply for general courses, the candidate must have got pass marks in at least five subjects.
Gour Mahavidyalaya Merit List:
All admissions will be made as per merit and availability of seats. The merit list of selected candidates for admission to the Honours course will be published and displayed on the college website and will not be communicated to candidates individually.
Calculation of merit marks as per ugb norm:
a) Subject to the eligibility criteria, the merit lists for the honours courses will be prepared as Subject (opted for Hons.) + Grand Total (best 5 including English)/6.
b) In case any candidate opted for an honour beyond his subject combination (except languages) at H.S. (10 + 2) level, the merit lists for the honours courses will be prepared as 0(zero) + Grand Total (best 5 including English)/6.
Gour Mahavidyalaya Counselling:
Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit as per the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination, keeping in view the stipulated Rules and Regulations set by the University of Gour Banga and the Higher Education Department of State Government. There is also a provision of reservation of seat of
SC/ST/OBC/PH as per Government Rules.
