Jamini Roy College, established in 1986, is the general degree rural college in Beliatore, Bankura district. The college is thus named because Jamini Roy, a pioneer of modern art in India, was born in Bellator. It offers undergraduate courses in arts. It is affiliated with Bankura University. Till the academic year 2016-17, it was affiliated with Burdwan University. The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Admission Criteria:
Students who have passed their Higher Secondary examination/H.S (10+2) or any other equivalent examinations are eligible to apply for admission. Students who have passed Vocational Course equivalent to 10+2 are eligible only for B. A Programme Course. Students with 45% marks in the H.S examination can apply for the Honours Course. Those who have passed out in 2020 and 2019 they can also apply. Only students who have passed with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the Class XII level are eligible for admission to B.Sc. Honours Course in Economics and Computer Science. Only students who have passed with Chemistry as one of the subjects at the Class XII level are eligible for admission to B.Sc. Honours Course in Microbiology and Nutrition. The Candidates who have passed the Vocational Course at 10+2 examination are eligible for admission to B.A. (Gen.)/B.Com. (Hons.&Gen.). In case of equal marks in H.S. results, total marks/percentage of marks of immediately preceding examination is to be taken into account for the ranking. The best five(5) of the H.S. Subjects must be adopted for calculating the total marks and percentage.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission in Honours and Programme Course:
a. Honours Degree Course: All candidates who have obtained at least 45% marks in the 10+2 examination are eligible to apply for the Honours Degree Course.
b. Programme Course: All pass candidates are eligible to apply for the General Degree course.
