JEE Main Examination 2020- Application Form, Exam Patter

JEE Entrance Exam 2020: National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the process of filling up te the Application form for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2020. The last date for Applying was 10th October 2019. The Exam date will be scheduled for 6th-11th January 2020. Candidates can fill the Application through Online mode. here are major changes in the registration process of JEE Main this year. National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JEE Main 2020 January session in computer-based mode from January 6 to 11 for admissions to various B.Tech/B.E. programs offered by 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 28 CFTIs. JEE Main 2020 will be held for 2 papers where Paper-I is for B.Tech admissions and Paper-II for B.Arch and B.Plan admissions. The admit card will be released on December 6, 2019. NTA will declare the JEE Main result on January 31, 2020.

About JEE Exam:
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an engineering entrance examination like UGC NET conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India. It is constituted by two different examinations JEE Main and the JEE Advanced. The exams are of the objective pattern. JEE Advanced is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging undergraduate admission tests. JEE Main is National Level Entrance Exam conducted by NTA to offer admissions BE/B.Tech, BPlan and BArch courses at the NIT, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) across the country. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is also the eligibility test for JEE Main 2020 will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main Exam Application Process:

The Online application form for JEE Main January session was available in online mode from 03/10/2019. The Application form for paper 1 and 2 was the same. Candidates could fill the application form either for paper 1 or Paper 2 or both. The applicant can follow the given step to fill up the Application form.

Step 1: Registration– Candidates first have to register themselves by entering personal and contact details. Next the password must be put as the given specifications. The password must have 8 to 13 characters with at least one Upper case, one lower case alphabet, one numeric value, and one special character.

Step 2: Fill up Main Application Form: Application has three parts-

  • Examination Related Details: Paper appearing for (Paper 1 or 2 or both), choice of examination centre, choice of language
  • Academic details
  • Guardian Income

Step 3: Candidates now have to upload the document & photograph. All scanned documents should be in JPEG / JPG format. Image size should be between 10 KB to 200KB and the Signature should be between 4 KB to 300KB.

Step 4: Make Fee Payment– Applicant need to pay the required Application fees for JEE (Main) Exam only through online mode using Debit card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI and Paytm service

At last applicants have to take a print out of the Application form for further use.

Candidates can track their application form by login to their registered accounts. If the payment status is not showing “OK”, this means that the transaction has been failed /canceled. Candidates have to pay the fee again. While the amount will be refunded automatically within 7 to 10 days.

JEE Main 2020 Correction Window:
NTA will open a JEE Main 2020 application correction facility from 14/10/2019. If accidentally candidates provided any wrong details while filling up the application form, they can rectify all the details. In the case of category change from reserved to general, the difference in fee must be paid online. However, of a change from general to reserved category, there will be no refund of the different fee.

Students will be able to correct details in the application through online mode only. To make corrections in the application, students have to pay an additional amount of fee.

JEE Main Exam 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have pass class 12th pass in Science Strem or Diploma Holder or equivalent from a recognized board or university.

Qualifying Subject: Candidate should pass class 12th level with at least five subjects with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or any other technical vocational.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020

Exam Mode: The entrance test will be organized in an Online CBT mode. However, the drawing test of paper II (B.Arch) will be only held in Offline mode.

Number of Papers: The entrance exam will be held in two papers, Paper I and Paper II. Paper I will be held for admission into B.E / B.Tech program. Paper-II will be held for admission in B.Arch and B.Plan programs.

Question Type: The question in both the papers will be of objective type. As per new changes, the paper will also have questions in both the papers will be of objective type. As per new changes, the paper will also have questions in which answers are to be filled as numerical values. The drawing test of B.Arch paper will be of subjective type.
