Admission Criteria for Madhusudan Hore Mahavidyalaya Admission:
A. Hons. & General Degree Course Eligibility (as per C.B.P.B.U regulations)
Pass in Higher Secondary (10+2) West Bengal Council Of Higher Secondary Education (W.B.CH.S.E) or Pass in (10+2) pattern after a period of 12 years study or pass in an examination recognized as equivalent by the appropriate authority provided he/she passed at least in five subjects with English as a compulsory subject.
B. Eligibility to apply for Admission to Hons. Subjects
(a) For General Students:-
i. Who obtain 55% marks in the aggregate in the last (10+2) examination
ii. Who obtain 50% marks in the aggregate with 60% marks in the subject in the qualifying examinations.
(b) For SC/ST Students:-
i. Who obtain 41% marks in the aggregate in the last (10+2) examination.
ii. Who obtain 37.5% marks in the aggregate with 45% marks in the subject in the qualifying examinations.
(c) For OBC Students:-
i. Who obtain 49.5% marks in the aggregate in the last (10+2) examination.
ii. Who obtain 45% marks in the aggregate with 54% marks in the subject in the qualifying examinations.
In the matter of eligibility to apply for admission to Honours course 54.5% marks or above shall be treated as 55% marks, 49.5% marks or above shall be treated as 50% and 59.5% or above shall be treated as 60%.
Madhusudan Hore Mahavidyalaya Merit List:
Selection will be strictly based on merit points following the guidelines of the Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University. The criteria are as follows:
Admission to all Honours Courses will be based strictly on merit. Merit shall be calculated as per the following formula. Merit = 2S+T/6. T = marks obtained in English + marks obtained in the subject opted for Honours+bestmarks of other two subjects [excluding EVS, the subject opted for Honours and English]. S = marks obtained in the subject opted for Honours. If the candidate does not have the specific subject opted for Honours in his/her previous Course The procedure for Merit Calculation will be as follows: Merit = T1/4. T1 = marks obtained in English+best of other three subjects excluding EVS. This procedure is also applicable in the case of the General Course.

Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit as per the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination, keeping in view the stipulated Rules and Regulations set by the University of Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma and the Higher Education Department of State Govt.
