About Matiaburj College:
Matiaburj College is an undergraduate liberal arts college in Kolkata, India. It is affiliated with the University of Calcutta. The history of Matiaburj College can be traced back to the Pre-independence era when a society, Matiaburj Educational Society, was formed in 1923 with the objective of establishing a high school which would later be developed into a full-fledged college. In this connection, the society got the possession of a piece of land donated by Clive Jute Mill and a school was duly established called Matiaburj High English School, presently Matiaburj High School. The school started functioning in a ‘tin-shade’ and got recognition from the University of Calcutta w.e.f 01.01.1924. The present building of the school was constructed in 1942 with the help of generous contributions from the people of the area.

Criteria of Matiaburj College Admission:
Students who have passed the 10+2 level examination in 2020 or 2019 from any recognized board in India (e.g. ISC, CBSE, West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education and other boards of other states) are eligible for application to this college. Foreign students with completely published results of 10+2 level or equivalent examinations are eligible for application. A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with 45% marks in the subject or relevant subjects at the previous qualifying examination in which that subject is included. OR 55% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination. OR 50% marks in aggregate when the candidate takes up Honours in the subject not included in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied.
