Pijushkanti Mukherjee Mahavidyalaya is the government-aided degree college in Sonapur, Alipurduar district. It offers undergraduate courses in arts. It is affiliated with the University of North Bengal. The College was established in the year 2015 and it was formally inaugurated in the same year by Dr. Partha Chatterjee, Honorable Education Minister, Govt of West Bengal, Binoy Krishna Barman honorable Forest Minister and Dr. Somnath Ghosh, Honorable V.C. Eligibility Criteria for Pijushkanti Mukherjee Mahavidyalaya Admission 2021-22 – Online Application

Admission Criteria:
Students who have passed the Higher Secondary examination (10+2) conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary education (WBCHSE) after a period of 12 years study or any other equivalent (10+2) pattern examination conducted by the I.S.C. or C.B.S.E. or any other board recognized as equivalent by the North Bengal University, provided the student has passed in at least four subjects with English as a compulsory subject, excluding Environmental Studies/Environmental Education. Those students who have obtained either (i) 55% marks in the aggregate or (ii) 50% marks in the aggregate with 60% marks in the subject in the qualifying examinations shall be eligible to apply for admission to Honours in the subject concerned in general categories. However, the above criterion reduces to (i) 50% marks in the aggregate or (ii) 45% marks in the aggregate with 60% marks in the subject in the qualifying examinations shall be eligible to apply for admission to Honours in the subject concerned in SC/ST categories.

Pijushkanti Mukherjee Mahavidyalaya Merit List:
Selection will be strictly based on merit points following the guidelines of the North Bengal University. Admission will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit. The subject-wise merit lists will be prepared based on corresponding index marks for all categories of students. SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates from only West Bengal are eligible for reservation benefits.

Pijushkanti Mukherjee Mahavidyalaya Counselling:
Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit as per the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination, keeping in view the stipulated Rules and Regulations set by the University of North Bengal and the Higher Education Department of State Govt.
