Eligibility Criteria for Ranaghat College Admission 2021-22 – Online Application
Ranaghat College Admission Criteria:
Candidates passed Higher Secondary or equivalent examination from recognised Board (as prescribed by the University of Kalyani), in the year 2018 or 2019 or 2020 are eligible for taking admission. An Honours candidate is eligible to apply in three Honours subjects in one Admission form. If a candidate is willing to be considered for General course she will have to submit separate Admission form specified for the purpose.

The eligibility criteria as furnished by the University of Kalyani for admission to the first semester Regular Honours Courses are:
i) 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject opted for Honours or
ii) 45% marks in the aggregate and 55% marks in the subject opted for Honours in the qualifying examination.
iii) 55% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject or any related subject in H.S. for which Hons. is opted.
iv) Candidates belonging to SC and ST category will get a relaxation of 5% marks in case of i), ii) and iii) above.
v) Candidates of SC and ST category will get a 5% relaxation in marks from minimum eligibility criteria.
vi) While calculating such aggregate, full marks of each such subject will be scaled down to 100 wherever needed.
Ranaghat College Merit List:
Admission will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit. The subject wise merit lists will be prepared based on corresponding index mark for all categories of students. Honours Merit list will be prepared by taking Sum total of best scored five subjects + Marks obtained in the concerned subject or related subject. Marks will be deducted @2% from the best of five subjects in General Course and @2% from the total of (best of five subjects + Honours subject) in Honours Course in case of applicants of previous year/years. Reservation as per Government rules.
Counselling of Ranaghat College:
Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit as per the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination, keeping in view the stipulated Rules and Regulations set by the University of Calcutta and the Higher Education Department of State Government. There is also a provision of reservation of seat of SC/ST/OBC/PH as per Government Rules. If one is absent at the time of counselling, she will not be entertained later on.
