Sundarban Mahavidyalaya, established in 1965, is an undergraduate college in Kakdwip, West Bengal, India. It is affiliated with the University of Calcutta. Sundarban Mahavidyalaya is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). When Sundarban Mahavidyalaya was established on 4th August 1965, it was a landmark event for many thousands of students and parents of the Sundarbans and beyond, as the absence of a college in this vast area meant that the dreams of higher education and improved economic conditions were a remote possibility for most children studying in the numerous schools dotting the Sundarban area.

Eligibility Criteria for Sundarban Mahavidyalaya Admission 2021 – College Merit List, Last Date

Eligibility Criteria:
A Candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent exam is eligible to seek admission to the first semester of the Six semesters B.A./B.Sc/B.Com. (Gen./Hons.) course under Choice Based Credit Systems (CBCS). He/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. Admission to B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Gen./Hons.) the course will be conducted on the basis of the Higher Secondary or equivalent exam recognized by affiliating Board/Council. No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying exam or discontinuous of recognised regular course of study after passing the previous qualifying exam.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission (Honours Course):
i) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying exam [in case of B.Mus. (Hons.) 45% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject Music, in the previous qualifying examination,] Or (ii) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying exam. Or (iii) 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying exam provided all other clauses are satisfied.
However, candidates belonging to Reserved Categories taking up Honours Course of Study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying exam, as the case may be.

How to Apply for the Sundarban Mahavidyalaya Online Admission 2021-22

Students have to apply online to take admission to Sundarban Mahavidyalaya under Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) Hons. & gen. ug Courses. The online portal will open after publishing the Higher Secondary (12th) result. Students can apply for B.A., B.Sc., B.Com Hons. and Gen. courses.

Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit as per the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination, keeping in view the stipulated Rules and Regulations set by the University of Calcutta and the Higher Education Department of State Government. There is also a provision of reservation of seat of SC/ST/OBC/PH as per Government Rules.

Sundarban Mahavidyalaya Merit List:
Admission will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit. The subject wise merit lists will be prepared based on corresponding index mark for all categories of students. SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates from only West Bengal are eligible for reservation benefits.
