Bidhan Chandra College, also known as Rishra College, is one of the oldest colleges at Rishra, in the Hooghly district, West Bengal, India. Eligibility Criteria for Bidhan Chandra College Admission 2021-22 – Online Application
Admission Criteria:
A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent exam is eligible to seek admission to the 1st year of the 3-year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com (Hons. and Gen.) and B.A.(Major) course of studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. Candidates who have passed the H.S. (10+2) Vocational exam conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.A. (Gen.) 1st-year course of studies taking the subjects under Humanities Division only/Vocational exam in Business & Commerce conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.Com. (Gen.) The 1st-year course of studies under this University.
A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained:
(i) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. Or
(ii) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. Or
(iii) 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied. [(iii) does not apply for B. Com. Hons. Course].

If the deadlock still persists, a candidate who applied first will be entertained. Candidates must have passed from a board/council recognized by the University of Calcutta.
