About Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira:
Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira is an autonomous degree college. India located in Belur, Howrah near Belur Math. The Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira is a fully residential degree college for boys affiliated to the University of Calcutta founded in 1941 by the Ramakrishna Mission. The name ‘Vidyamandira’ was given by Swami Vivekananda in 1898 who had envisioned such an institution modelled on the ancient Indian ‘Gurukula’ system. Swami Vimuktanandaji and Swami Tejasanandaji were the founding Secretary and the founding principal, respectively, of this premier institute of higher learning. It was accredited ‘A+’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), India in 2005. In 2013 the college was re-accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with a CGPA of 3.120 out of 4 according to the present gradation policy.

Criteria of admission for various undergraduate courses: Students who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (or its equivalent examination) in the current (or the earlier) session may apply for admission to the 1st year class of the Degree Course. For admission, it is essential to qualify both in the admission test and/or interview conducted by the respective departmental teachers. The suitability of the candidate for the hostels will also be taken into account.
Criteria of admission for various postgraduate courses: Students who have appeared or passed the degree examination of Calcutta University (or other Universities) in the current (or earlier) session may apply for admission to the 1st year of M.A./M.Sc. courses in Sanskrit, Bengali, Mathematics, Applied Chemistry & Philosophy. For admission, it is essential to qualify both in the admission test and/or interview conducted by the respective departmental teachers. The suitability of the candidate for the hostels will also be taken into account.
